Website Claims Control
If we say it, we must be able to support it.
Every material public claim should have an internal source or supporting record. Website statements must accurately reflect actual organisational practice. Applicable South African law takes precedence.
Material claims include, among others: number of members; businesses funded; amounts sourced; offices; vehicles handed over; regulatory registrations; B-BBEE status; products; partnerships; financial claims; and impact statistics.
- Do not publish inflated, estimated or unverified numbers as confirmed facts.
- Where figures are estimates, label them as estimates.
- Where figures are ambitions or future targets, label them as ambitions or targets.
- Where money has been sourced rather than disbursed, preserve that distinction.
