Legal & Compliance
Fair Opportunity & Procurement
Opportunities should not be allocated merely because of personal relationships, regional favouritism or undisclosed interests. Hidden preferential treatment is prohibited. Legitimate preferential programmes are allowed only where they have a lawful and documented basis.
Applicable South African law takes precedence.
Where this applies

Entrepreneur support
OPPORTUNITY → CRITERIA → APPLICATION → EVALUATION → DECISION → RECORD
Decision-makers must disclose conflicts of interest. See the Conflict of Interest page. This page does not create a right to any particular contract or opportunity.
Procurement & supplier integrity
Significant procurement decisions should be supported by appropriate documentation. Depending on the purchase, records may consider:
- Quotes
- Supplier comparison
- Quality
- Price
- Total cost
- Reliability
- Delivery
- Compliance
- Conflicts of interest
- Approval authority
Multiple quotations are not required where they are impractical or inappropriate, but a documented reason for the exception should be kept. See also Financial Control & Asset Protection and Prosperity Charter. Contact +27 60 709 4406.
