Why Lengau teaches people to SAVE
Disciplined saving is the foundation of Lengau People’s Society — pooling member contributions so communities can support one another without depending only on outside capital.
Communal saving is how African communities have long weathered hard seasons and celebrated milestones together. Lengau People’s Society takes that tradition and organises it as a member-based financial society.
Members contribute through structured savings and contribution programmes. Those funds stay inside the community: they are not sold as investment products. The Society does not offer investment schemes; members participate internally and share in surplus created through participation.
Saving is taught as a habit of dignity — the first step in the sequence Lengau repeats across the site: save responsibly, lend responsibly, develop entrepreneurs, fund productive activity, and work toward financially sustainable lives.
