Historic Maseru Success: 19 Vehicles Handed Over to Members

LENGAU PEOPLE’S SOCIETY CELEBRATES HISTORIC MASERU SUCCESS AS 19 VEHICLES ARE HANDED OVER TO QUALIFYING MEMBERS

Maseru, Lesotho – 30 May 2026

Lengau People’s Society proudly celebrates the remarkable success of its Community Empowerment, Business Development and Vehicle Handover Event held at Setsoto Stadium in Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho.

The event marked a significant milestone in the growth of Lengau People’s Society within the Kingdom of Lesotho following the successful launch of Lengau People’s Society Lesotho at Lesotho High School, Maseru, on 29 November 2025.

Thousands of members, supporters, community leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, stakeholders and guests gathered at Setsoto Stadium to witness a historic occasion that showcased unity, empowerment, economic participation and regional cooperation.

A major highlight of the event was the handover of 19 vehicles to deserving and qualifying active members. The handover represents Lengau People’s Society’s ongoing commitment to empowering members through practical economic opportunities and improving livelihoods across communities.

Lengau People’s Society extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Lesotho Police Service, the Lesotho Police Majorette and all relevant institutions and authorities within the Kingdom of Lesotho for their professionalism, cooperation and continued support. Their contribution played an important role in ensuring the safety, success and smooth operation of the event.

The Society further acknowledges and appreciates the ceremonial escort and logistical support accorded to President Ntate Thabo Thedingwana from the border to the event venue. This gesture reflects the positive relationship and mutual respect that continues to develop between Lengau People’s Society and the people of Lesotho.

Special appreciation is also extended to our valued partners and supporters, including Toyota, JAC Motors, Isuzu, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers, programme directors, media representatives and all local artists and entertainers who contributed towards making the event a memorable success.

Today, Lengau People’s Society continues to grow across Southern Africa with a membership base exceeding 80,000 members and increasing participation from communities throughout the SADC region. The organisation also continues to support more than 1,500 small businesses across South Africa and neighbouring countries, including the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Through savings initiatives, entrepreneurship programmes, business support services, community partnerships and economic empowerment projects, Lengau People’s Society remains committed to helping individuals and businesses achieve sustainable growth and financial independence.

Despite challenges experienced during the organisation’s rapid growth and expansion, Lengau People’s Society remains focused on strengthening governance, improving operational systems, enhancing compliance frameworks and building a sustainable institution capable of serving future generations.

Speaking after the event, President Ntate Thabo Thedingwana expressed gratitude to all members, stakeholders and supporters who continue to believe in the vision of the Society.
